Like how Death Note is an anime starter, True Beauty is a webtoon starter. Obviously, it's an unfair comparison, but both play significant roles in introducing new audiences to their respective forms of media. Overall, True Beauty has an average story that keeps you entertained, but the backlash it receives is also justified. Much of this can be attributed to the fandom, as they often focus on their favorite ships instead of considering the overall story's motive. In the end, the fans are both the biggest promoters and critics of this webtoon. To sum up, it's an overrated love triangle where fans tend to forget the main character's insecurity issues towards the end. Despite this, I liked it and rate this 6/10.
